Psychology. Journal of the Higher School of Economics plans a special issue on THEORETICAL AND APPLIED ISSUES OF RESEARCH INTO HUMAN ENVIRONMENTS for March, 2019. This issue will be multi-disciplinarily oriented, and will be open to contributions from various areas of psychology, sociology, philosophy, public health, etc, as long as the research makes a contribution to the theoretical and/or empirical state of the art. Marketta Kyttä (Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland) and Sofya Nartova-Bochaver (National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia) are guest editors. The submission deadline for abstracts (up to 200 words) is April 30, 2018. The authors will be notified if their proposals have been accepted prior June 30, 2018. The submission deadline for the papers (based on the accepted abstracts) is September 30, 2018. All proposals and papers should be presented in English. The editors will consider contributions related to the following contexts: (a) Methodology of a person-environment research: how to assess environmental effects, people’s attitudes toward environment, and environment human interplay? (b) Environment as a resource for positive health and well-being: security, recreation, restoration, and stimulation. (c) Gender and age specificity of friendly environments. (d) Natural environments: how and why to use, develop, and protect them? (e) Built environments: how and why to design, dwell, and personalize them?
All submissions will go through the usual peer-review process established in Psychology. Journal of the Higher School of Economics. Conditional on the acceptance of proposals, full papers should be submitted using the online system with an indication that the submission is for the special issue in Psychology.
